The proclaimed "general" of DMV hip hop group Four-In has released his full length solo LP entitled The Lone Wolf Project on January 1st, 2014. Cynical Minded and producer D-Hype co-authored this honest, gritty, and highly-listenable concept album.
C.M. along with D-Hype, pooled musical resources from over 7 years of work to complete the project. Pulling samples from the film Shogun Assassin, the same film used to sample on GZA's classic album Liquid Swords, C.M. and D-Hype tell the tail of The Lone Wolf, a rogue EMCEE who travels through all levels of the world "upholding the covenant" of classic hip hop.
The LP features a bevy of artists from the DMV hip hop association High Command. The "concept album" approach used here breathes a fresh breath of life into today's often bullsh*t-saturated music game. The imagination and synergy here between EMCEE and producer is from a bygone era, exemplifying their active practice of "upholding the covenant."
Here's the official video for the track "Genesis" a song about the multiple theories swirling around the creation of mankind and the curiosity that fuels man's search for meaning.
Download this album before it catches fire.
